The Green Line is also patrol circuits…

During the spring and summer, the Town’s pesticide inspector regularly patrols the garden city to make sure citizens and businesses are using only authorized substances on their lawns and in their gardens. The inspector also checks signs on lawns to ensure they include all required information.

Besides ensuring compliance with our pesticide by-law, the Green Patrol answers your questions and provides feedback. Check our weekly patrol circuits to find out when we will be in your area.

…And information kiosks

Would you like to have a firsthand look at the products we recommend? At our distribution events, keep an eye peeled for Mount Royal’s Green Kiosk, where you will find a display of earth-friendly gardening products. You can also ask questions about ecological pest management, gardening and lawn care. While you’re there, feel free to take a pamphlet!

Environmental Awareness Services

Green Patrol

Overseen by the Regroupement des éco-quartiers (REQ), the Green Patrol aim to raise awareness and educate residents about various environmental issues related to the urban environment.

Created in 2005 by the Conseil régional de l’environnement de Montréal, the Green Patrol provides detailed information on various environment-related topics, including residual materials collection, water management and the ecological, social and economic value of the urban forest. The information is disseminated by a patroller through information kiosks, patrol circuits and other activities organized across the Town during the summer. The patroller provides advice and tips that make it easy to integrate environmental-friendly habits into your lifestyle.

The Green Patrol service is available during the summer season, from June to August. For more information, please call 514 734-4123 or use the link below.

Blue Patrol

Overseen by the Regroupement des éco-quartiers (REQ), the Blue Patrol aim to raise awareness and educate residents about various environmental issues related to the urban environment.

Since 2010, the Blue Patrol has been advising citizens on how to use drinking water responsibly. Harvesting rainwater to reduce runoff into sewer systems, repairing leaky faucets and installing water-saving devices are but a few examples of the good practices that the Blue Patrol recommends making part of your day-to-day life. The service agent's responsibilities also include providing information about the by-laws respecting drinking water and the impacts of climate change on the urban environment, particularly the increased incidence of severe rainstorms.

The Blue Patrol service is available during the summer season, from June to August. For more information, please call 514 734-4123 or use the link below.
