Fees

Access to the pool for free activities is subject to an entrance fee, whether for the family bath or adult baths. You'll find all the information you need in the appropriate sections. Please note that during the registration period, priority is given to residents of the Town of Mount Royal.

Fees are charged according to the following rules:

  • The first rate applies to residents with a valid Recreation Card.
  • The second rate applies to residents without a Recreation Card and to non-residents.
  • A season pass allows you to avoid admission fees (it is important to have proof of your season pass at all times).

Swim for Life Program

The “Swim for Life” program is for everyone. From babies to adults, there's a swimming course for everyone. The program allows progression through several levels, encouraging the learning and perfecting of different swimming styles, while emphasizing fun and play for the youngest. Courses are offered as group or private lessons.

What I need for the lessons:

  • Swimsuit
  • Towel (two if needed for baby courses)
  • Goggles for Swimmer 2 courses (no goggles for preschool courses)
  • A parent must accompany the child in Parent Child courses 1 to 3.
  • For Preschool 1 courses, the parent is encouraged to accompany the participant in the water for 2 in-water courses to encourage the child's independence. More than two courses are possible, depending on the child's needs.

When registering, please make sure you know your child's swimming level and that you can respect the chosen schedule, as no schedule changes can be made (an automatic cancellation of the session will occur).

Private Lessons

The Lifesaving Society's “Swim for Life” program offers lessons for all ages, from 4 months to adulthood.

  • Parent-Child classes (4 to 35 months): These courses help toddlers become familiar with the water, while parents learn how to have fun with their child safely.
  • Preschool classes (3 to 5 years): Young swimmers begin to swim independently on the front and back, with the goal of reaching a distance of 10 meters.
  • Swimmer 1 to 6 (ages 5 to 12): Children develop good swimming techniques and improve their endurance, until they are able to swim 100 meters continuously.
  • Swimmers 7 to 9 (ages 8 to 12): These levels prepare children for lifesaving training by building stamina and introducing the basics of lifesaving techniques.
  • Teen and Adult Courses (ages 13 and up): Offered to teenagers and adults, these courses enable you to learn to swim or improve your techniques to perfect your swimming styles.

If you have any questions about the swimming courses offered by the Lifesaving Society, please visit their official website.

Piranhas Program

The Piranhas are made up of three distinct groups, each with a key role within our aquatic environment:

  • Swim team: This group trains four times a week to prepare for the competitions held every Wednesday. Swimmers develop their technique, endurance and competitive spirit.
  • Diving team: Trained three times a week, this team perfects its skills for the Thursday competitions, working on precision, coordination and dive control. Beginners are welcome and can learn the basics of diving in complete safety before progressing to more advanced figures.
  • Leaders' group: Made up of members of the swimming and diving teams, this group enables youngsters to familiarize themselves with the pool environment. They accompany the cashiers and lifeguards in their tasks and supervision of the pool. In addition to this immersion, the leaders offer them activities to help keep the pool running smoothly, such as assisting coaches with morning routines and supporting employees in their daily tasks.

To join a team, participants must meet the criteria specified in the brochures.

Together, these three groups form a dynamic community where passion, commitment and team spirit are at the heart of every training session and activity.

Lifeguard Training Programs

The training offered by the Town of Mount Royal enables residents to take lifeguarding courses, as well as training to become swimming and lifeguarding instructors.

Thanks to government support, these courses are entirely free of charge and take place at the municipal pool.

Please note that these courses are not designed to teach swimming, but to certify future lifeguards and instructors.

For more information on training courses available at the Town of Mount Royal, see pages 60-63 of the electronic booklet below.

If you have any questions about these courses, please visit the Lifesaving Society's official website.
