Our garden city extends east and west of Autoroute 15 south of its intersection with Autoroute 40. Also known as the Décarie Expressway, Autoroute 15 forms a clear geographic dividing line between the Town’s industrial and residential sectors. Retail businesses are found on both sides of the divide.
Located to the west of Autoroute 15, the industrial sector comprises nearly 40% of the Town’s surface area. It fronts on both the Côte-de-Liesse and Décarie expressways and is heavily built up; in fact, future projects will have to focus more on converting existing structures than on selecting vacant lots. Located barely 10 km from the Montréal-Trudeau International Airport and 15 km from Montreal’s Old Port – and just half that by train – it is a near-ideal location.
Workers travel to and from the sector via, among other means of transport, the metro (Namur and De la Savane stations) and the 73 and 92 bus lines.
Since 2019, this industrial sector has been witnessing a revival: the construction of the new Royalmount Megamall. It will offer a wide range of commercial uses (restaurants, stores, cinema, etc.).
Dozens of interior design businesses serving importers, artisans and decorators have set up shop along the Décarie Expressway near the entrance to Mount Royal’s industrial sector. The Quartier has become one of the metropolitan area’s prime destinations for professionals and shoppers alike.
This district’s landmark development is the chic Rockland Centre, located alongside the Metropolitan Expressway (Autoroute 40), making it a fashion destination with strong drawing power.
Located in the heart of Mount Royal on both sides of the railway, Town Centre is home to businesses and offices that provide residents with a number of products and local services.
Adjacent to the Acadie metro station, the Beaumont sector has attracted a wide range of businesses, including several in the health care field.
A stone’s throw from the De la Savane metro station, condominiums sit alongside a mix of businesses and offices that provide an array of products and services, many of them found in the Carré Lucerne complex.
The most modest of Mount Royal’s commercial districts features a range of automotive services (including mechanics).
