New Mural at Dunrae Gardens School

Public art continues to flourish in the Town. This fall, Dunrae Gardens School added a mural to the south facade of their building.

Last June, a successful vernissage raised approximately eight thousand dollars for the creation of a mural on the west facade of Dunrae Gardens. This collective effort was spearheaded by Dunrae's Art teacher, Michael Venditti, in collaboration with the school administration. Montreal artists Teetz and WhatIsAdam, along with parents and the community, which supported and generously contributed to this cause. The idea originated when the tree covering the west facade wall fell due to the ice storms last April. This artwork adds a timeless and creative touch to an otherwise plain building.

All residents are invited to go see the artwork done by the artist Adam Viera, known as WhatisAdam. With this mural, he has succeeded his mission of embodying a profound commitment to the core values of imagination and education. With each stroke of his brush, a world of creativity unfolds, inviting viewers to explore the boundless realms of imagination. The floral elements around it are inspired by our beautiful Garden City and represent the aesthetics of TMR. The vibrant colors and intricate details serve as a visual testament to the power of artistic expression in fostering a spirit of curiosity and learning. Rooted in the belief that art has the ability to inspire and educate, this masterpiece stands as a testament to the enduring connection between imagination and the pursuit of knowledge.

It is a great new addition to the excellent collection of public art around Mount Royal!
