Construction Notice - Installation of an Underground Power Transmission Line: Jean-Talon West Street
Hydro-Québec will be conducting work on Jean-Talon West Street, between Lucerne Road and Saint-Clare Road, to install an underground electricity transmission line. This project is part of a larger effort to meet growing energy demand and ensure long-term service reliability on the Island of Montreal.
Work period: April 28 to May 16, 2025
Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 7:00 to19:00
Some weekend work may also take place.
Nature of the work:
Open trench excavation to install underground conduits.
Expected impacts:
Partial closure of Jean-Talon West Street
Temporary removal of parking spaces
Machinery noise during certain operations
Secured construction zone
Mitigation measures:
Clear signage in place
Access to homes and businesses maintained
Pedestrian access preserved
Traffic control personnel on site as needed
Fencing installed around the work zone
