Petition in support of Cavendish extension project

Mayor Peter Malouf encourages Townies to sign the official petition on the Quebec National Assembly website asking the Quebec government to demand that the Ville de Montréal extend Cavendish Boulevard.

Context

The members of the Cavendish Alliance, of which the Town of Mount Royal is a member, are asking the Quebec government to ensure that the Ville de Montréal respects the Hippodrome agreement signed in 2017. This agreement mentions that the Quebec government ceded property worth over $50 million to the Ville de Montréal on condition that the Ville de Montréal go ahead with the Cavendish Boulevard connection project.

By signing the petition, the signatories are asking the Quebec government to demand, in compliance with the 2017 agreement, that the Ville de Montréal respect the Cavendish-Cavendish road connection project's path according to the schedule tabled before the BAPE, and include it in the agglomeration's ten-year capital budget (PDI), in order to obtain government funding for housing and/or Quartier Namur Hippodrome infrastructure.
