Krump Workshop with 7Starr - Saturday, February 24, 2024

To mark Black History Month, the Town is happy to offer a krump workshop on February 24 between 11:00 and 12:00 for teenagers aged 10 and over.

Please note that the activity will take place in the youth section of the library (1967 Graham Boulevard) and that to register, you need to visit the youth desk in person or call 514 734-2973.

Born in the Los Angeles ghetto in the early 2000s, Krump is a dance form characterized by free, expressive, exaggerated and highly energetic movements.

Come and discover this type of dance, introduced and explained by none other than a pioneer of the Canadian krump scene, choreographer and performer 7Starr (Vladimir Laurore)!

Co-founder of Canada's first krump troupe, the Bzerk Squad, 7Starr is also known for his community involvement, lecturing and teaching at elementary, secondary and university schools, charities and community centers. He is currently president of the Montreal Krump Alliance, an NPO dedicated to promoting krump culture across Canada and, in 2017, received the Victor-Martyn-Lynch-Staunton Award from the Canada Council for the Arts for his exceptional artistic trajectory.

This workshop will give you the opportunity to use your creativity and emotions as catalysts for movement, and to understand the importance of meaning behind every movement! An activity not to be missed!
