Major Closures: Weekend of May 17 to 21, 2024

Mobilité Montréal is informing road users that major roadblocks will be in place during the National Patriots' Day long weekend, notably on Highway 40 (metropolitan) west in Montreal. This area should be avoided.

From Friday 23:59 to Tuesday 5:00

Westbound

In Montreal, complete closure of A-40 west (Métropolitaine), between exit 70 (A-15 north, R-117, Laval, chemin Rockland) and the Cavendish boulevard entrance.

  • Detour: via the service road (chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse).
    • Heading for A15 south (Décarie), on chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse, make a U-turn at chemin Devonshire (after the interchange). Optional itinerary: via Décarie north access, turn at tournebride and Décarie south / A-15 south.
  • Default closures: as of Friday 23:00
    • Laurentides interchange: the ramp from A-15 south (des Laurentides).
    • Stinson entrance.
    • Décarie interchange: the ramp from A-15 north (Décarie). 
  • Area to avoid - risk of daytime congestion. MTMD recommends optional routes using autoroutes 440 and 13, 20 or 30. 
  • Please note :
    • In the event of unfavorable weather conditions or operational constraints, this closure may be delayed or postponed over the long weekend.
    • However, if weather conditions remain favorable, the closure could be lifted by 5:00 Tuesday.
    • A similar closure will be necessary again this year
